I will totally admit that I missed the Presidential Debate last evening and it wasn’t accidental. Matter of fact, It was intentional azz intentional as I have pretty much been grated down to my nerves on the entire political season really. The debates and the coming few weeks are mainly for the undecideds out there who need a push to go with either candidate whilst the rest of us have pretty much dug their heels in and have made our decision as to whom we’re voting for.
So… I missed it. I got together with my wife and our friend, and we explored shyt in Guild Wars 2 and discussed life.
But every so often I peeked onto facebook to see what you guys were saying about how things were going with the debate and from what I heard, I’m glad I missed it.
For those who did watch it, what were your favorite and least favorite moments and… because i know you have some…. show us your favorite gifs and memes which were the result of last night’s Presidential debate.
Hell.. I think out of everything said last night, Neil Degrasse ( a damn hero of mine) seems to have said it best with:

Yeah I didn't watch. I didn't have the energy to get pissed off. I've concluded that none of them motherf*ckers give half a sh*t about us.
Yeah I said it.
I'm so sickened by our entire system that it literally makes me nauseated to think about the people and families that have suffered because of our government.
I'd totally hump Tyson. Cowgirl style.
My fav moment was when it ended.. boring..the moderator sucked and Obama disappointed me.. grow some balls.. Phuck Mitt..cant trust anyone with no upper lip as I mentioned on FB..
''My fav moment was when it ended''……cosign
I hated the moderator, he sucked major monkey balls….I wish Obama would have shown him his ass, instead of allowing Mitt to show up and show out…Mitt is rude, arrogant and smug!
I was not impressed by either of them. It was just a lack luster debate. And I am confused by all the talk about how Romney "won" this debate. I didn't realize he had won, sh*t.
But I can report, all Romney did was yammer on, about the same thing he has said for months.
Which means he talks, without ever making a point.
All he can say… and I am paraphrasing this… but all he can say is "Obama bad. Obama fail. Obama needs to go. Vote Mitt!"
And if I have to hear about how Mitt… "Knows how to run a business"… as if knowing how to steal from your own company and then move the stolen money off shores… is worth bragging about.
Then I am at a lost how selling yourself as a professional thief, makes you a better choice for President.
And Mitt interrupting and over talking others grated my nerves something serious! Rude ass bastard!
Oh, and I watched cause I felt I need to know what the enemy is saying…even though my mind is made up…
My favorite part was the resulting Sesame Street memes. Take from that what you will….
those had me seeing the light!

Mitt is gunna be getting some serious enemies after that debate
the first three minutes of the debate where all i liked. the handshake, obama's shout out to mrs. obama on their 20th anniversary and romney's well-wishes for them. that's it. i don't think i'll be tuning in for the rest of the debates unless we get some commercial breaks to amp down a bit.
my favorite part was the wings, mac n cheese and baked beans my sister cooked for the viewing "party" we had…
it bored me
Obama was really laid back which to some was not a good move…but that's how he is
Mitt was loud and aggressive which made it look like he was winning…but once you got over that and really paid attention to what he was saying…there were a lot of lies and half-truths in his loud talking…
so honestly who won?
and honestly who gives a farthings damn?
I don't even think debates will sway an undecided…
the debates are now just to give the media something to talk about
cause once they are over the media picks them apart and the undecideds end up just as confused as they were before… and the ones who already know who they are voting for dig their heels in deeper in support
the debates are a waste of time…
I won't watch any of the other presidential ones…I will watch the vice presidential one cause I like Joe Biden
i look forward to crazy uncle joe. but if jim lehrer is back, then i would need to take frequent breaks.
I'm waiting on Joe.
"I don't even think debates will sway an undecided… "
And as Bill Maher rightly pointed out, why give so much of a damn about them anyways!

I think President Obama didn't go all H.A.M. because that is Joe's job. I'm like you, I didn't think Mittens really won…he was just louder and more disrespectful. Nothing he said was of substance and actually gave the media more fodder bc of the bull…but it is what it is…I've been Team Obama and it's not going to change now…
Its really a strategic move on Obamas part! Its like in the book" the art of war". If your enemy thinks they have any kind of advantage they might get over confident and slip. We all know Mitt is over confident so think about it that way. Obama was just playing cat and mouse. He was just going all NINJA on everyone!
That's one thing I love about Joe…he gives zero fuggs about telling it like it is. I hope he knocks the bottom out of Ryan next week.
i wasn't planning on watching, but my mother was into it, so i did see the last 20 minutes or so…
the thing that made me cringe was mittens kept referring to massachusetts as his "home state"…
i was actually born, raised and live there…something mittens cannot claim…
other than that, my mind hasn't changed about either candidate…
I watched, and Mitt only won by "cheating". He was aggressive with his responses, although most were reported to be lies. And people say he "outlined his plan"… he just added numbers to his nothing…
Obama should have fought more. He looked like he didn't even care.
"Poor kids…er, low income kids." Way to PC that up Mittens.
"Well I did have 5 seconds until you interrupted me." Pretty much.
Seriously, that was the worst moderating I've ever seen…Jim Lehrer totally lost control and it really chapped my azz to hear folks say he did a decent job. No the hell he did not.
The best way to watch the debate was online at HuffPo Live. They had these different chat rooms – Comedy – Women – Young Voters. Naturally, I was all up in Comedy after spending some time in the Women's one. It was fun to see the comments flying, and add in your own to the fray.
I admit to feeling that Barry was off his game, but damn wouldn't you be at less than 100% if you had to spend your what was it your 20th anniversary with a robot and a senile old man instead of your ravishingly beautiful and brilliant wife?
I had never actually seen or heard Mittens speak before (intentionally, don't ask) and it creeped me out what with his glassy eyes and something kept reminding me of dubya and I kept having to not frow up in my mouf a lil each time he spoke.
The whole thing was clumsy & disjointed. Has'nt changed my mind. Romney won't be getting my vote.
The problem with presidential debates (especially the early ones) is that generally they're nothing new information-wise, so the real currency that you trade on is presence.
All the talking points and sniping by the pundits eventually gets old, and most people generally distrust facts from politician to begin with — so what people look for in debates like this is a sense of presence, a connection through the screen.
Who's in the game? Who actually gives a s**t versus who thinks this is all just a formality before he gets to live in the big house and fly around in the fancy plane.
Obama has never been that great of a debater, and part of the reason people think that is that he's always chosen this polite and passive stance that he considers to be professorial/presidential.
In other words, he considers it too much of a risk to lose his cool, because he believes that cool is what people like about him.
But there's losing your cool, and then there's looking detached — and with Romney so amped up steamrolling the moderator and just talking talking talking (a lot of which was pretty boring to listen to) what you start to focus on is the reactions.
We've heard tons of these talking points before — and a lot of them (death panels, green energy) are based on bullcrap, but to have Obama not even flinch as the mud was being slung, ESPECIALLY when you have an opponent who is known for bending facts and is running on a platform that is ripe for attacks when it comes to integrity (47%, Bain, Women's healthcare) — to just see him not engage back was kinda disappointing.
In the end it might not matter that much on election night, but what it did do was let Romney off the mat.
Barack could have put him away tonight. He could have held him to a number of things that many republicans weren't sure about when it comes to Mitt and helped erode further the confidence the right wing base has in the guy as a candidate.
But instead what he did was give Mitt the floor, and despite the fact that Romney was all over the place with facts and kinda turned his back on the far right with what he was saying — he did appear as a guy who is capable of standing on the same stage as a president, and that might have helped bring some of those wavering on the right back into the fold (at least for now).
I'm not asking for Barack to yell and scream, that's not who he is.
But if you're gonna attack the guy in your ads, then those topics should be available in your arsenal when your opponent starts talking out of both sides of his mouth.
In other words, he considers it too much of a risk to lose his cool, because he believes that cool is what people like about him.
THIS. Obama knows the value of acting "presidential" and he knows that the Right is waiting for him to unleash the "Angry Black Man" and he's refusing to give them the satisfaction. Mittens all but waved a red cape in his face to get him to charge, but Obama remained cool (although the right strategy, never let 'em see you sweat, he went a little overboard and into the territory of the perceived indifferent which made him appear weaker than his opponent). While I do agree that it seemed like he was kinda off his game last night, Mittens' show of lack of respect of authority and sense of smugness didn't win him any points with the undecided.
It didn't , but it seems to have solidified his base & gave them energy. Everyone is talking about how Obama "lost" lasst night, and how Mitt held his ground & did well…so while it won't really change the bases of either party (I thought Mitt came off as condescending in his smiles & attitude), it may just stop his people from worrying about him, so I guess he won?
Obama showing fire is a Catch-22, but I would like to see him hit back with Mitt's own words. Romney just kept spewing these 'facts' when he got stuck…let's see how he would've responded to that.
And Jim Lehrer must've wandered in from a bocci ball game or something…smh
And Jim Lehrer must've wandered in from a bocci ball game or something…smh
*Celie drops* You aint never lied! The man looked lost in the sauce, hell, I'm surprised he let Mitten steamroll him like that seeing as the man said he'd cut funding to his gig (PBS).
I tried watching the debates, at least in the first hour, I made sure to fix myself a cup of chammomile instead of a bottle of wine. I couldn't stand it. Romney was just loud. And when I saw how loud and obnoxious he was being, I knew he wasn't "winning" however, the perception was otherwise. Blech.
I didn't watch it, because I didn't want to have an aneurysm shouting at Mitt.
When I worked for a PBS affiliate station in my hometown, I had a chance to meet Jim Lehrer (great speaker at one of our events). At that time, it was right after he moderated the 2004 election. It's a shame, because he was good during that one. But then again, John Kerry and Bush Jr. were more respectful than Mitt.
