Weekend Wrap Up!

Hi Y’all Beth here!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Mine was not so great Friday night I don’t know what was going on but I ended up breaking out in hives, coughing, sore throat just all broke down. Saturday I spent the day in bed for the most part. Sunday I felt a lot better did some cleaning and cooking but not much else.

How is the weather where you live? Man it’s crazy here Friday it was in the mid-60′s when I walked out of the office by the time I got home (40 minutes later) it had dropped to the 40′s and that’s pretty much where the temp stayed all weekend.

So who watched Blackolias (the all black version of Steel Magnolias)? From what I gather on facebook and twitter it did not live up to the original. I have never seen the original, I am not one for chick flicks. I tried to watch the remake but nothing about it appealed to me so about 30 minutes into it I changed the channel to SVU! What did y’all think of it?

What did you get into this weekend?

  1. *sigh* where do I start??? Basically, I have been a bytch all weekend..Loaned a "friend" some money and when I gave her my acct # to deposit it into my bank acct, that heffa paid her car note with my shyt!!! So basically, today, I have to go and file charges on this scallywag today….

    • whoa!

      that is so low down

let me know if you need me to posse up with you…

      that is so foul!

      • Yeah…Been knowing this tramp for over 10yrs…try and help out a "friend" and get shytted on…Back in my 20s, I would have stomped a mud hole in this chick, now that I'm damn near 40, I'll allow the courts to handle this one…

whelp, thats one less person to worry about come Xmas time.

Man.,..times is hard and got us all actin the fool.

      • You got that right!! I never would have thought someone that I called a "friend" would do that to me…Now, everyone gets the side eye from me…my trust with people has been severly broken…

        • I just can't believe the balls of that person to do that!

          That is horrible!!!

          I feel bad for you!

What did your bank say? Will you be able to get the money back or are you SOL?

          • As of right now, it's a pending charge, but as soon as the check clears, I will get my money back…so since today is Rape & Pillage day, I have to wait till tomorrow….I loaned the bytch $100 and she took $300, so basically, she has stolen $400 from me….

            • Woooo!!! She should forever sleep with one eye open and look over her shoulder because if it were meeeee there wouldn't be enough Jesus to save her a$$.

So sorry you have to deal with the betrayal. The bank will return your money but she's stolen something from you that cannot be replaced, trust. Only time will heal that. *hugs*

Mollywopping her in the face would be a better feeling, but kudos to you for being law-abiding. Hope it works out for the best.

  2. I didn't watch the original or remake either, sooo..

Chilled on Friday – especially since I still have this cold.
Workrd Saturday morning – I put together a resource fair, so I didn't sit for 6hrs. Ran around and schmoozed with vendors…
Saturday afternoon – took my kids to a sweet 16 party for my friend's daughter…
Sunday – made another baby dress and took my son to an audition.

Oh, and I'm starting my event planning business back up…

The only good thing about being underemployed and facing penury is the fact that I have time to actually do stuff. So, I shopped and stocked up, cooked, cleaned, did laundry, took care of some errands and mail that had been put offf. Good times.

  4. Oh, and other than stewing in my hatred for a Ms. Yoland W., I also looked at few items to stock up on…About to open an online boutique, and no, I didn't watch the colored version of Steel Magnolias…And I also went to see Jack Yates basketball play in a tournament where they knocked the dust off of everyone they came in contact with! LOL

Very productive weekend, if unglamorous. We defrosted the fridge-freezer and cleaned the oven. We did a bit more decorating. We bought a little bit of furniture for the flat (apartment). And we listened to some great music. Oh, and I finally got around to writing a New Music Tuesday review (with another mostly done this morning): so, Beth, I’ll get those sent in a few hours!

Also, heard this album. Not bad, but this tune, I have been ROCKING out to all weekend – loving the groove….. [youtube G6xGy_6hseI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6xGy_6hseI youtube]

  6. I spent the weekend in Chicago visiting family and celebrating a favorite aunt's 80th birthday. HAD A BLAST with my family!!

There was a lot of down time in my weekend, but the highlights included spending a wonderful Saturday afternoon at the local pumpkin patch with some energetic kids, hiding my face from some scenes in Princess Mononoke.
On Sunday, it was a super lazy day that someone how ended with me drunk and stealing a sign from a restaurant for a friend.

  8. I had a great week-end! My older girl scout troop hosted a Frankenweenie Lock-in for 25 daisies and brownies. The highlight was a rousing game of musical chairs were I bumped little girls left and right with all butt, only to be taken out by a brownie who bumped me to the floor!
After the lock-in I come home and sleep 18 hours. I woke up to find a spotless house because my hubby thought I was dead and he knows not to let anybody in here till the place is clean.

I stepped on the scale and rejoiced ! A week has elapsed and I'm already 11 lbs. down doing a fresh fruit & vegetable juice fast. The first few days were hard and I felt like swinging on everyone within my reach, but after that phase ended I have so much energy. My 250+ lb azz actually RAN on a treadmill and did intervals for 25 minutes, and when I felt the treadmill wasn't enough I did 10 on the elliptical and 30 minutes worth of laps in the pool. I felt so good about losing weight I actually treated myself to a box of raisins, even though I was craving a Southwestern salad badly. I'm still having slight cravings here and there but I'm glad the constant hunger has passed

  10. LibraBaby says:

I haven't heard of that one, but I'm going to look into it. I watched the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" and I've basically been juicing whatever combination I can come up with. I do a fruit juice in the morning and a vegetable juice in the after noon and again at night

  11. I was happily lazy all weekend except for a brief shopping trip Sunday. After a few hours of dressing room shaming I bought a great dress for an upcoming wedding and even breezed through the usual torture of bra shopping. Made a lovely dinner Sunday night and had an equally lovely cocktail afterwards.

did you know it was canada's thanksgiving? neither did i. they were all at the outlets this weekend…everyone we ran into was very polite…

other than that it was a quiet weekend..

  13. Unca_Ruckus says:

Sat in the car for an hour and a half, waiting for a tow truck. How is it when you pay for roadside assistance, it take them for ever and a day, but when a cop calls for an impound tow, those rachet sumbeetches will get there in less than five minutes?

  14. Fadematic says:

Worked, called out a idiot for performing a crow call while he was riding the high of the Falcons' win, ate, ate, ate some more.

Also flirted and had the action considered a seal of the Apocalypse being broken.
