Last week the Black blogosphere went nuts about a video featuring two gay Black men; Robert and Nathaniel, getting married. Mayhaps it was a big deal NOT just because it was two black men getting married, but because one of the men was a member of a prestigious Black fraternity known as Kappa Alpha Psi and the entire colour scheme was representative of the fraternities colours and such.
My inbox and the OHN inbox was flooded with info about this whole ‘scandalous’ event.
At first I ignored the news because I simply didn’t see what the issue was so I had to go and do a little research in order to see if there was some aspect I missed regarding the story. Bossip, Gawker, the Root, Global grind, etc etc, I checked over my favourite urban blogs and others I despised as well but still didn’t see what the huge deal was.
Until I read the comments on the various sites:
- Look at these gay-ass Kappa negroes! Told y’all those Nupes were a bunch of f*gs.
- What would you expect from a fraternity which prides itself on having the ‘prettiest’ dudes of the Pan-hellenic council
- Ugggghhh!
- This is a disgrace and the Nationals should revoke their damn membership over this.
- They need to have their membership revoked and the chapter who allowed his f*ggot-azz to cross needs to have it’s charter revoked. We can’t have ANYTHING without them forcing their lifestyle in it!!!
Etc etc etc. As i said, the Black-internet was aflame ( no pun intended). So then I understood exactly what the big deal was…… they were black, gay, gay and black and… one of them, Nathaniel, was a member of Kappa. Ohhhhh I get it. Make sense to you? Yeah me neither.
The shyt doesn’t make any damn sense at all, people!!!!! So the hell what!!!?? Ermagerd gay merij!!!! Oh My Godddddd there are Gay black men about. All I got is that the photos and the scenery are beautiful. The other thing I have noticed is this is the second super fab gay wedding I have seen and I just wanna know what they do for a living that they can afford all this splendor and glam. I would say they easily spend 20 – 30 grand on this.
More and more businesses are starting to try and cater to the Gay community, or getting the "pink dollar" as they say. Why? Because they are realizing that they have more disposable income than a lot of other people.

Politicians better take the Bible out of Politics and start catering more to this demographic, because they are missing out on a lot of money. I can't even imagine how much the economy would be improved if we would legally allow gay marriage, and the orders and items for everything connected with weddings would increase.
As for the wedding, it was gorgeous, as are both of the grooms. I wish them all of the happiness their hearts and lives can stand.

This was truly one of the classiest weddings I have ever seen. From the video it looked perfect from A to Z. Two men obviously in love. Family and friends loving them both and wishing them all the best. Everyone having a good time. No fights broke out. Nobody got shot.

If you're gonna follow Christ's teachings, follow this one: "Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.” – 1 Peter 2:17. Which means plain and simple, Love and respect everyone, love the fact you are brother/sister in the Lord's eye, Fear God, and Honor him by doing these things!

This reminds me of the uproar it caused in the family when my uncle announced to the family that he and his boyfriend of 32 years had gotten married.

I have never understood the hatred for the gays. I am a homosexual with hetero tendencies. I was talking to a friend the other night about my experience coming out and how I haven't had any rejection from friends and family and how I'm lucky that way given I'm AA, have grandparents who are from the South and were deeply involved in the church. Then I also realized that mainly, I wouldn't stand for rejection. If you don't want to deal with me because I'm a big queerly azz queer, then sucks for you.
