Weekend Wrap Up!

Hey y’all Beth here!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Mine was pretty good, weather was GREAT! Saturday I spent the day at the Yellow Springs Street Fair. Yellow Springs is a village here in Ohio that is about as weird as they get. They won’t let fast food restaurants in or most chain franchises (they do have a subway though) because they do not fit with the village atmosphere. I love going there! Anyway, good food and fun was had the entire time I was there. Of course the people watching was awesome! You get to see all sorts of weirdos lol.

Sunday was a chill day and the return of The Walking Dead! My life is now complete because the new season has finally started!

What did you get into this weekend?

Friday night I went to a dinner function at my Dept Mgrs house, which was surprisingly enjoyable. Saturday was spent moving furniture and getting my daughters bedroom ready. Sunday church in the morning, cooking in the afternoon and flipping between the Walking Dead premiere and the horrific performance by the Texans. Not sure which one was more disturbing.

Friday night, I hung out with my neighbors in our community square and watched them get pissy drunk. (I mean I drink, but they DRINK).
Saturday ran around town getting things for my card pary next weekend. Saturday I got sick as a dog which lasted though the rest of the weekend.
Sunday I dropped my Nook on the way out of the house to church and cracked the screen. I came home and mom cooked. I'm talking collard grrens, stew beef, country ribs and fried cornbread. Orerall a decent weekend.

  3. Chilled on Friday night.
Saturday – did my volunteer tutoring (reading) for the first graders. Although I'm not sure why the little girl I was paired with, Imani, is in the program…she's smart as a whip! Relaxed my naps in the afternoon. Then headed out for an evening filled with drinks, dancing, tapas with the OC that had me up til sunrise.
Sunday was spent mostly napping and was in bed by 9pm and asleep by 10:15.

  4. Friday marked the end of the 3.5 rainless season here in Pdx and it started Portlanding again. I actually kind of missed it. I went out with a friend who helped me drink my feelings because I didn't get a job that I was really hoping for.

Saturday, I did some retail therapy and bought some new bow ties with my friend and his daughter. I also went on a date that I had been really looking forward to. My friend and I went to a Haunted House that was on the edge of town. It was such a bizarre experience. I really did get scared at one point because one of the characters reminded me of something I was afraid of as a kid. I was hiding behind my date, with my eyes squeezed shut as she roared and yelled at the monster, "you're scaring my butch".

Sunday- It was a day of family time. I went out to brunch with my best boyfriends, took a nap because I was super tired from the previous night, went to an apple and pear tasting at a local nursery (who knew there were sooooooo many types of apples), then I went to the Hollywood Theater to watch the premiere of the Walking Dead. Holy crap, that was fun & scary!

  5. Went to renew the library card on Sunday and found that FOOL Stephen King wrote ANOTHER Dark Tower novel (Book 8; The Wind Through the Keyhole). DAMN HIM!!! So of COURSE I grabbed it, but have to finish half of my current knitting before I can even begin to start (cuz it will be all over, to include sleep til I finish it)..

Cooked like demons…hopefully found a piece of furniture for the spare room, a lovely early-60's chest of drawers. Needs a little restoration, but when that's done we'll return to view and hopefully buy….and that's about it……

Had a mental weekend from hell, and it followed me into Monday. Effing effed up brain chemistry. >_<
