Kijani Grows – THE most impressive urban gardening techniques I have ever seen.

Two years ago I decided that it would be interesting to get into gardening as not just away to give my family fresh organic produce, but also as kind of therapy of sorts since being outside and active in my yard simply clears my mind on a level that is hard to explain. I started off with one raised garden box where i was able to grow my own salsa garden that yielded amazing tomatoes, peppers and cilantro.  Then this last year we moved up to corn, cucumbers, cantaloupes, watermelons and ohhhhh man was it just amazing!!!!! For those of you who know what I am talking about, there is nothing like cooking with food that comes from your own hardwork….. nothing like it.  So whether you have a full yard or just a patio, balcony or porch, you CAN garden… and it WILL be amazing.

But that Eric Maundu has done with his Aquaponics garden? I …am…floored. I am simply floored.

The video is 13 minutes long and I don’t advise you to try and watch it at work, but… you owe it to yourself to see what this man is accomplishing…. it’s…wow.

Wow…..

Seriously, If you haven’t already… I would seriously consider the awesomeness of gardening, participating in local urban gardens, farming c0-ops, etc.  Even a garden on your apt balcony…. trust me…. you will love it.

  1. I keep saying I'm going to grow my own green beans, peas, cucumbers, tomatoes & squash…

  2. this is the first year I had a semi-successful garden. But this gave me some ideas on how I can grow my veggies indoors over the winter,I just pray if someone drives by and sees plants growing under lights that I'm harvesting some grade A home grown mary jane.

    • i'm not gonna lie… I WAS thinking… this probably grows some of the best pot ever…..

      • i already had one of my Sons' friends threaten to call the DEA on me because I wasn't sharing the harvest. They thought I was growning some sticky icky, but It was only Lamb's ear that has a bloom that does look like marijuana.

    • It's Oakland son!!! All them lights for oregano? He's a minority. he likes the devils lettuce.

  3. I would love to garden but my giant ass black walnut tree is a hater…I couldn't grow anything in my yard if I wanted to…I did have a small herb garden a couple of years ago but it was nothing to take care of…someone else put it together for me and I just watered it every now and then…

This is freaking amazing. If I had the money, I would totally invest in it.

Right now, we have a little planter box on our balcony. My son wanted to try it out, so I got him set up with that and some seeds. He grew some sunflowers, tomatoes, and cilantro. They grew fine, but the tomatoes took forever. They're actually still sprouting. :O

  5. So many of our homeowners here are from Viatnam, and almost all of them grow their own gardens in their yard.
One lady even planted RICE! We were amazed!
They grow great fruits and veggies in the worst red clay… I don't know how they do it, because my little garden box only gave me two tomatoes…

  6. Folk misses the ol'garden we used to keep down south. cucumbers, carrots, basil, lemon grass, thyme, cilantro, fruit! Shyt Folk even tried to grow some corn once. Fvcking new jobs!

We should all learn to grow our own food. The s**t they're selling us in the stores is poison. And on some real conspiracy theory s**t, when the s**t hits the fan, it's going to be every man (family) for himself.
