Wednesday’s back, which means it’s time for MFK!
We’ve all played the “M.F.K” game before — where you’re given three names and have to decide which one you want to put a ring on, which one you spend the night with and then sneak out before they wake up the next morning, and which one simply needs to be killed?
Well this is exactly the same, except with music. I give you three songs, and all you have to do is leave a comment below and tell tell me which one you LOVE, which one gets the drawls, and which one meets the reaper.
Of course, we’re always looking for reader submissions — so if there’s a track you heard and you kinda like it, or you seriously love it, or you absolutely HATE IT — find a YouTube and email me the link and I’ll post it up here as soon as I can.
Lots of great reader submissions this week, always great to hear from the folks who read the posts. I gotta tell you though, you guys got lucky this week — because there’s a killer new Revocation track that’s been playing on repeat in my headphones all week that I was dying to drop in here even though I knew everyone would probably hate it. I’m weird like that though, thinking that maybe I could sneak one by in that sort of ”I know ya’ll said you don’t like screaming vocal speed metal, but this song is really good!” When I know deep down the only ones who would probably be interested are Lurk, Lefty, and Minista.
Instead what we’ve got here are some choice slow jams, each a little different from the other, but all worth a listen.
MORE IMPORTANTLY THOUGH – Next week we’re going to be doing a special Halloween themed post featuring the scariest songs ever. I’m talking the worst, most horrific things you can think of (kinda like this costume), nails on the chalkboard, how in the fugg did this ever get on the radio bad bad bad songs you can think of. They can be in any style from any era. Think of your most hated tune and send the titles to my email – hopefully we can have some fun with it.
Anyways, on to this week’s jams.
See which one you like best — and remember, even if you like the songs — you HAVE TO CHOOSE!
Avant ft Keke Wyatt — You and I
Damumalik — Jealousy
Gary Clark Jr. — When My Train Pulls In

[Emm] Damumalik — Jealousy: Smooth, mellow, understated. Definitely more my style. He could ease up on the airy/whispy voice thing tho.
[Eff] Gary Clark Jr. — When My Train Pulls In: I f*ck with. Not the 1st thing I'd turn on, but I'd definitely give it some spins every now and then.
[Kay] Avant ft Keke Wyatt — You and I: One thing I DO know is…I hate autotune. I've never been an Avant fan, and the artificiality/synthetic sounds of the underlying track don't sit well with my ears.
The real way to see Gary Clark Jr is live.
Not enough people know about that cat yet, but he's fantastic.
Dude… peep this. This track made me a damn fan..

Oh I know man. Great song.
My thing about the Black Keys is that as much as I dig their sound, they're kind of inconsistent. I love going into their albums, but I wear out on it about halfway through because the guitar doesn't really have enough attitude for my taste.
When I found Gary's stuff that problem was solved. THAT'S WHAT I WANT!
I can listen to this guy any time.
Yo, that was kinda dope!
Gary clark Jr is a BEAST!!!!!
M – Avant – They always sound good together. That run that CooCoo…ehem..KeKe does at 2:39-2:42 is nasty! She can sing her face off! Always could!
F – Gary Clark's little boy
K – Damumalik – Only because I had to choose.
M-Keke Wyatt. It's a decent song
F-Gary Clark. I love stuff like this
K-Damumalik. I find this song very boring. However, it will make a good song as part of a tv show.
M – Avant and KeKe
F (and probably have a long affair with) – Gary Clark Jr. — When My Train Pulls In
K – Damumalik — Jealousy – it's too housy and I hate house music with a strong passion
